Mind Tools & Inspirations: Wonderful blue sky
Spending time in nature changes how your human system functions (and how you feel).
In this 3-minute practice you connect with your sense of a wonderful blue sky.
TRY THIS…
If you have time, let me guide you so you can focus on your experience.
HERE IS THE PRACTICE
Sit comfortably and close your eyes.
Have a sense of the sky the last time you saw it.
Have a sense of the sky.
As you inhale, open your hands.
As you exhale, close your hands.
Continue this at your own pace.
Inhaling, opening your hands.
Exhaling, gently closing your hands.
Now sit comfortably.
Invite a wonderful blue sky to come to mind.
There is no hurry, just wait and allow a sense of a wonderful blue sky to show up.
Notice the color of your wonderful blue sky.
Notice the feeling of your wonderful blue sky.
Place your hands on your chest, one hand over the other. Exhale here.
As you inhale bring your arms out wide to the sides.
As you exhale your hands come back to your chest.
Inhaling and bringing your arms out wide.
Exhaling your hands return to your chest.
As you continue to move and breathe like this, have a sense of your wonderful blue sky.
As you inhale and bring your arms out wide, draw the feeling of your wonderful blue sky into yourself.
Sit comfortably.
Notice how you feel.
WHY DO THIS?
What was your experience when you allowed a wonderful blue sky to show up?
There is no right or wrong answer.
Perhaps there was a specific memory—the sky today, or a recent blue sky, or a vivid memory of a particular experience. Perhaps it was a general sense merging many wonderful blue skies during your life.
If you repeat this practice on different days, your experience will be different. (It’s so interesting!) And you will continue to deepen your connection with the feeling of a wonderful blue sky.
