HERE IS THE PRACTICE
Sit comfortably and close your eyes.
Feel your feet where they are touching the floor.
As you inhale gently raise your heels.
As you exhale bring your feet back down.
Inhaling, lifting your heels.
Exhaling, lowering your heels.
Astronauts traveling to the moon look out their portal and see planet earth.
The planet is home for you and 8 billion other humans and all other life.
Remember the land where you live.
Remember the land in surrounding areas.
Remember distant land you have visited.
Have a sense of the earth.
Remember the water where you live. Perhaps there are rivers or lakes or oceans.
Remember the water in surrounding areas.
Remember distant waters you have visited.
Have a sense of the earth.
Feel your feet where they are touching the floor.
Imagine you are an astronaut looking back at earth.
Imagine looking back at our home planet.
Have a sense of the earth.
Stay with the feeling for as long as you like.
WHY DO THIS?
The photo of the dark side of the earth lit by the moon was taken by Artemis II astronauts. Remembering we share this home with each other and all living things may evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation.
