In this 3-minute practice you invite one of your core values to come to mind. Connecting with a core value can remind you how it feels when you are aligned with what matters to you.

HERE IS THE PRACTICE
Close your eyes and sit comfortably.
Bring your attention to your breathing.
As you inhale, gently open your hands.
As you exhale, gently close your hands.
Continue moving and breathing like this.
While you are inhaling, your hands are opening.
While you are exhaling, your hands are closing.
Gently bring your attention back.
Invite one of your core values to come to mind—something that’s really important to you.
Don’t go looking, just wait and allow a value that matters to you to show up.
Then be with that value.
Notice what it means to you.
Notice what it feels like in you.
As you inhale, opening your hands.
As you exhale, closing your hands.
As you inhale and open your hands, imagine you are bringing in more of your core value into yourself.
As you exhale and close your hands, imagine you are holding on to that core value.
Now sit comfortably.
Return to your core value.
Notice how you feel when you connect with that value.
WHY DO THIS?
There can be a delicious feeling of rightness when the world, your life, or just something you are doing aligns with your core values.
There can also be a delicious feeling of rightness when you feel aligned with a core value, such as by doing this short practice.
Doing this can remind you of who you are or who you want to be.
Doing this might help you bring more of that value into your life.
